Analysis of field cases and full-scale observations

Monitoring of real ship behaviour as opposed to the operational demands and practical master's reaction to stormy weather and extremes. Constructing of operational seakeeping diagrams. Analysis of casualties at sea due to loss of stability or pure manoeuvring, including human factor analysis.

Development of on-board computer systems for operational control

An advanced version of PC based on-board system for operational control has been developed at BSHC. The program modules for calculations on statics, stability, strength and seakeeping are grounded on classical theoretical methods certified by Bulgarian Register of Shipping. Use is made also of operational data taken from ship documentation as well as some systematic model tests results.

System universality enables quick adaptation to different ship types, such as bulkcarriers, containerships, multipurpose and Ro-Ro ships. The system operation and service is made user-friendly, not requiring specialized knowledge on computers, which makes it especially attractive to crew members.
